From a very young age she lived in Toulouse with her uncles (Jaume Beleta and Elvira Ibarz) and her cousin (Maria Castelló). During World War II she was involved in resistance movements against the Nazis until she was arrested in May 1944. After being imprisoned and tortured, she was deported with her aunt and cousin to the Ravensbrück concentration camp, where she managed to survive. She received the most outstanding decorations of the French Republic and, at the time of her death, was the last Catalan survivor of the Nazi concentration camps.
